Acer palmatum
Description: A refined small to medium deciduous tree prized for delicate palmate leaves, elegant branching and exceptional spring and autumn colour. Available in multiple forms from upright to weeping, making it highly versatile for specimen, container or understory planting. Leaves emerge with vivid colours in spring and often show outstanding reds, oranges or golds in autumn.

Full sun; best in sheltered to moderately exposed sites where variegation retains colour.

Formative pruning when young to maintain structure; remove vigorous basal shoots and prune to maintain variegation by avoiding heavy shade.
