Growth Habit:
Dense and uniform vertical branches with a central upright trunk. Confined growth habit is maintained without the need for pruning.
Foliage:
Lustrous dark green leaves mutating to bronze through to deep red in late autumn, often continuing into winter.
Floral:
Insignificant flowers in spring.
Preferred growing conditions:
Very tolerant of a wide variety of conditions including wet or dry sites, clay or sandy soils, as well as moderate drought, pollution and wind. Thrives best in full sun in moist, acidic and well drained soils. Will suffer in high pH soils.
Landscape Use:
A tall, straight and impressive form of Pin Oak, recently introduced to Australia. A very interesting feature tree suited to larger landscapes. Ideal for use in sites where width is restricted but a majestic tree is required.
