The Silver Birch Betula Pendula ‘Alba' is a majestic tree with a distinct white, upright central trunk and pendulous (weeping) branch formation.
Foliage:
Deciduous. Beautiful silver green leaves which change to gold in autumn providing year round interest.

Preferred growing conditions:
Adaptable to a wide range of acid or alkaline soils.
Tolerant of dry and windy or water logged sites for short periods.
Best suited to full sun or part shade.
Thrives in fertile, deep, moist, well-drained soil.
Landscape Use:
The Silver Birch Tree is a very popular and hardy tree which is often used for screening along driveways and fencelines.Silver Birch is also suitable as a majestic feature tree or in group planting for a ‘woodland’ effect.
These trees have a rather fibrous root system which means they are unlikely to damage walls, slabs or crush pipes if planted in close proximity. However, in order to help retain moisture, mulching is required in the summer months.
