A small, bushy, round upright bottlebrush with a slightly pendulous branch formation.
Foliage:
Evergreen native with dark green, smooth leaves up to 8 cm long.
Flowers:
'Kings Park Special' Bottlebrush is spring flowering with rich red brush-like clusters scattered all over the tree.
May occasionally flower in late autumn.
Preferred Growing Conditions:
Thrives in an open position in full sun.
Tolerates a variety of soil types; however, soil must be well drained.
Does not cope well in areas of severe frosts as damage may occur to younger growth.
Very well suited to pruning following flowering. This ensures plant density and stimulates further flowering.
Landscape value:
Prized for its abundant floral display of deep red brush-like panicles during spring. It is particularly suited to areas where space is confined or for small landscapes. Callistemon 'Kings Park Special' is an excellent choice for group plantings in any area where height and width may be limited.
